Maybelline The Blushed Nudes Eyeshadow Palette

maybelline1

Hey Beauties,

I was eyeing on UD Naked 3 Palette for a long time now because I love the rose gold packaging and the rose gold tones shadows of the palette but was definitely not ready to splurge on UD eye palette so I searched for some dupes and got Maybelline The Blushed Nudes palette.

Details:

The Expert Wear Blushed Nudes Palette by Maybelline offer great colors that are perfect for everyone. These shades have great pigment and will help you achieve the perfect day or evening look.

My Reviews:

This palette comes with 12 cool toned eye-shadows. The colors are generally rose gold toned, light to dark pinks and dark grey. Out of the 12 shadows, 11 are shimmery- metallic and 1 is matte. These eye-shadows have slight chunkiness/graininess to them.  A primer is a must to use these eye-shadows. Without primer the color payoff is really bad. So, I would highly recommend using a primer with these eye-shadows. Also, I feel if these shadows are applied with a wet brush or fingers the color pay intensity on lid is more. You need to keep layering up the color to intensify. The darker greys in the palette are much more pigmented and got less chunkiness and feels smooth which makes blending easy. The eye-shadows stays for good 5-6 hours with a primer and doesn’t fade away and was totally impressed by this. This palette comes with double side sponge applicator brush which I am not a big fan of.

I like to use this for everyday look which gives a soft toned and natural look. I got a medium skin tone and I feel these eyeshadows dint show up well on my eyelids. So, I first used a concealer as a primer to cancel any darkness and redness and set with a powder. It made a huge difference with and without primer so I can’t stress enough that a primer is a must while playing with this palette.

Talking about packaging, it comes in a sturdy rose gold plastic packaging. I love how the palette looks and is very travel friendly.

I’m not totally mesmerized by this palette but I do think it’s worth considering if you don’t want to splurge on an expensive UD Naked 3 Palette. This could be a nice, affordable alternative if you have a bit of patience (and primer).

Pros:

  • Travel friendly
  • Sturdy packaging
  • Inexpensive
  • Good for everyday use

Cons:

  • Primer is a must for color payoff
  • Chunkiness
  • Not highly pigmented

Lakme 9 to 5 Lipstick in RED COAT

File_002 (1)

Red lipsticks have always been a talk in beauty world.  There are so many red lipsticks out there for every skin tone. Red is a color which can look flattering on every skin tone.  My favorite red lipstick is from Lakme 9 to 5 range in the shade RED COAT.  I have been having this lipstick for quite long now and recently I discovered I never reviewed for my beauties. So here is my opinion on this lipstick,

My Review:

The shade RED COAT is beautiful and classic true red with no pink or orange undertones. It’s a bright red with matte finish. The texture of this lipstick is creamy and glides on very easily. It stays good on my lips for 6-7 hours without touch-ups. It might fade tad bit after having a meal but touch up can be easy with this lipstick. It doesn’t settle in lines and doesn’t flake out throughout the day. It feels super soft and buttery without making it look dry and still looks matte. It’s rich and opaque too.

Talking about packaging, it comes in a beautiful and luxurious metallic rose gold packaging. The lid is quite tight and it travel friendly. Love the packaging.

  • Glides on smoothly
  • Beautiful red shade
  • Travel friendly

This hand cream is totally moisturizing and not greasy at all. However, it has strong scent which I normally don’t prefer. It contains shea butter, coconut oil and aloe vera which are rich and nourishing.

I got this lip liner in the shade MAYA and it’s a beautiful brick red color. It’s very smooth and glides easily but not long lasting.

How To Shave Your Legs The Right Way

Somehow SHAVING for women has not been easy.  I used to wax my body but then I dint like the fact that I had to wait a till my hairs grow back completely for next wax. It used to annoy me and that’s when I gave shaving a try and found the best way to get the closest shave without any itchiness and dryness.

So, here I am sharing with you all my best technique to shave,

Woman shaving her legs in bathtub

Step 1: Soak In a Hot Shower

Start by prepping your leg. I recommend shaving towards end of your shower and the reason is because the longer you are in the shower the hot water opens up your pores and this makes shaving a lot more easier and gives a much closer shave.

Step 2: Exfoliation

Exfoliating is really important. Use a loofah or an exfoliator and this will give you a nicer finish look and remove the dead and dry skin cells. I like to use my DIY Body Scrub Using Coconut Oil because that gives me a really smooth and soft feel to my dry legs.

Step 3: Use a Shaving Cream

No matter how in a hurry you may be, never shave “dry.” Use some good shaving cream to make sure the razor glides easily over your skin. Hair conditioner will do just as good a job.

Step 4: Use a Good quality Women’s Razor

Use a good quality razor with at least 4 blades. A big no to those single blade razor and if you are using disposable razors just use for couple times and dispose it off. Never use disposable razors more than twice because they might give you cuts and nicks. Always skip Men’s razor for shaving. I highly recommend using a women’s razor because they are gentler.

Step 5: Shave Upwards

Always shave upward against the direction of hair growth. This is will give you a cleaner and closer shave. Rinse your razor after each stroke because it just clogs your razor and doesn’t work really well.

Step 6: Moisturize

After the whole shaving process is done rinse your leg and treat your skin with a good moisturizer. I like to use by Bath & Body Works Body Cream because it gives that nourishment and moisturizes my dry skin really well.

I use this same method for shaving my arms and underarms as well.

Hope you guys liked it 🙂 Let me know your thoughts on this. Have a great week !!
