ELF Blush Palette Review In Light

ELF Blush Palette

Hey beauties,

Are you a fan of blushes with affordable price?? Well, then this product is for you!!

I have been hearing so many good things about the ELF Blush Palettes and finally thought I should give it a try and lately have been loving using this blush.

My Review:

This quad comes in 4 different shades with three matte finish and one with very little shimmer. These blushes are very finely milled powders hence gives a very soft look on cheeks. It’s very easy to blend and are super pigmented. The palette has two different shades of pink, an orangey bronze tan color and a coral shimmery color. I like to mix and match these shades to create a contour blush. It has quite good staying power for up to 5-6 hours. The upper right hand shade is great for contouring or if you want to go for bronzey look. Although, I feel this is the only shade I feel little muddy when I apply but none the less I love this and also use on my crease. I just apply this blush very lightly on the apples of my cheeks with a slight sweep up towards my temples. The best part is the pans can be popped out. You can easily carry your favorite color in the palette while travelling with your other eye-shadow pans and highlighters.

Elf blush 2

                                                                                      Bottom row

Talking about packaging, it comes in a black hard sturdy plastic box with a huge mirror inside. I really like that it comes with such a mirror. The black packaging looks quite classic.

This palette comes in two different shades. One is Light and the other is Dark. I picked in the shade Light. Overall, I am totally impressed by this palette and highly recommend to everyone.

My Verdict:

About packaging, it comes in a very pretty convenient pump that disperses just enough product and is easily controlled. I really like the packaging but the first time you use it, it might take a few pumps for the product to come out.

I got this in the shade NUDE.The consistency of this BB cream is little thick. Always use a moisturizer prior to this for blending easily. I use my Real techniques miracle sponge to apply. The product is nicely pigmented so you will notice some coverage. In my case, it does tone down the discoloration. The downside of this product is that it can wear off during the day. I managed to control that by setting the BB cream with setting powder but it last long. Also, since the product is too thick. I like to mix with little of my face serum.(because I have dry skin). This gives me a dewy look.

This BB cream is so heavily fragranced. It smells like a sunscreen with a floral hint of fragrance and the fragrance stays for quite some time.

Not to mention that although the SPF 20 is awesome but if you spend time in the sun you should be wearing another sunscreen under your makeup anyway. Also, the heavy fragrance can be sensitive for certain skin types.

I Love ELF but sadly this is not a product that I’d want to repurchase.

  • Inexpensive
  • Packaging is really good
  • Travel friendly

  • Heavy fragrance
  • Cannot blend easily with just the product
  • Thick consistency
  • Not hydrating

ELF Moisturizing Lipstick

ELF is a very affordable brand which stands for eyes lips and face. Lately I purchased few products from ELF and this elf moisturizing lipstick was one of them. This lipstick is a part of their studio range and generally costs about $3 in elf website and other drugstores.

I bought it in the shade ROSY GO ROUND which is very vibrant rose pink. Its kind of neutral to cool tone but pink is a color which suits every skin tone and compliments any look. The color of Rosy-Go-Round is sheer but its easily buildable and you can control the pigmentation according to your liking but swiping two or more coats on your lips.

The packaging comes in a black plastic tube. The design of this case reminds me off NARS lipstick. Most of the ELF products packaging are inspired from NARS packaging. Since the tube is plastic its very light. The lid doesn’t shut tightly. It does make a “click” when it closes, but it doesn’t take much effort to pull off the lid.

My Review:

The texture is quite creamy and moisturizing since it easily glides on lips and the lipstick can be intensified by giving more coats. This pink will suit most people since its vibrant but not gaudy. it glides on smoothly and you can totally skip the lip balm.It does transfer and require touch-ups after eating, but I’ve found that if applied with a brush, blotted then re-applied I can get a couple more hours of wear from it. It leave a nice, even stain behind.  The stain is not a weird shade of pink–it’s quite true to the original color of the lipstick as it fades. The fragrance is like warm vanilla and it reminds me a bit of MAC lipsticks. The flavor is subtle and tastes like vanilla but its’s not strong . It’s a very well done lipstick, for $3 and cruelty free and it’s the only vibrant pink lipstick I’ve ever been really happy with.

I can’t speak about all  the shades in this range because this is the only shade I own and so far I am loving Rosy-Go-Round. It’s a very comfortable to wear, and I really like how  you can easily build the pigmentation and go from a sheer wash of color to bold pigmentation in just a few swipes.IMG_0817

Pros :

  • Very smooth and creamy texture
  • Moisturising
  • Travel friendly
  • Easy to use
  • It comes off with ease when you are taking it off
  • Affordable price
  • Great quality
  • Leaves a nice stain!
  • Doesn’t easily creep into lines around the mouth.
  • Cruelty Free

  • Pigmentation need to be built with couple of swipes

So is it for you? Yes if you are into pink lipsticks this will instantly perk you up and if you are a makeup beginner then I highly recommend this.
