Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Eye Shadow Palette | Review

I generally don’t stock many eye shadow palettes as I am not a makeup artist and don’t do heavy eye makeup on everyday basis and I have couple of great palettes which are my personal favorite and I use them every time and love them. You can read about them here and here. When I read and saw so much hype about Anastasia Modern Renaissance palette I was not convinced to get due to price and color range because I have similar shades from other palettes. But during the end of the year when Sephora sent me a $20 coupon I knew what I had to purchase and hence got this palette. This palette is originally priced at $42 but I got it for $22.

I am probably the last one to get this palette and now I know why people kept talking about it so much. This palette has beautiful shade selection which will suit all skin tones especially medium skin tones since it has some wonderful transition shade. The palette has mix of metallic and matte shades but more of matte. The texture is so smooth and buttery. It blends into skin so effortlessly and it has very high pigmentation. I recommend dabbing off excess while taking the eyeshadow but even if you end up applying more eyeshadow blending can be so easy and gives a smooth finish. There are beautiful shades and so many looks can be created using this palette, however I wish there was a matte black in this palette.

The packaging comes in a sturdy cardboard box and lid is like mauve pink color with velvet finish. The packaging look super cute but it can look dirty after sometime but that doesn’t matter since the inside stuff is to die for!! The palette comes with a double sided brush. Not a big fan of the brush though !!

You get 14 shades in total.

Tempera is a vanilla shade with a matte finish

Golden Ochre is an earthy yellow with a matte finish

Vermeer is an iridescent shell with a metallic finish

Buon Fresco is an antique lavender with an matte finish

Antique Bronze is a metallic bronze with a satin finish

Love Letter is a raspberry with a matte finish

Cyprus Umber is a coffee shade

Raw Sienna is a neutral amber with a matte finish

Burnt Orange is a deep orange with a matte finish

Primavera is a shimmery gold with a matte finish

Red Ochre is a sienna with a matte finish

Venetian Red is a crimson with a matte finish

Warm Taupe is an earthy gray with matte finish

Realgar is an orange brick with a matte finish.

I know by now every single person own this but still I highly recommend this palette to everyone who are still considering to buy. This is a great buy and totally worth the money.

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer | Review

Have you ever noticed how few concealers when you apply them on your dark circles end up looking sort of grayish? That happens to me all the time. Concealers with yellowish tones don’t cancel out the purple or blue areas and they end up looking gray like I’m zombie.

Peach color correct (works best for medium and dark skin tones) cancel out those purple or blue tones leaving the under-eye area looking brighter, more refreshed and definitely not gray, LOL!

I am in the shade Ginger and it works great it cancelling out the darkness around my eyes without having to use any corrector. I have been hearing so many good things about this concealer from the time it released and finally I gave it a try and I absolutely love it. The texture is neither too thick nor thin and it has medium consistency and blends so easily into skin without creasing and that’s the best part I like about it.It’s so creamy like the name suggest and glides on easily. I have tried so many concealers and this one has been my most loved from high-end side. You just need a tad bit of this concealer and it gives a full coverage. In terms of longevity, it lasts for a pretty good while; I would say about eight hours without creasing. I highly recommend using a loose powder to set any concealer as it avoids any concealer to settle into the fine lines and also it gives flawless airbrushed look. This has become my go to concealer and pretty much using every single day.

There are so many shades for each skin tone to choose from. The packaging is very simple like any other concealer. It comes in as tube with a applicator which makes it easy to use and how much product to use is in your control.

I highly recommend this concealer to everyone if you are looking for a full coverage concealer as it totally worth every penny. Have you tried any other full coverage concealer? Which is your favorite concealer? I would love to know your thoughts. Thanks for reading!

Review: Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer | Worth the Hype??

Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer

I am always on a lookout for a perfect full coverage concealer to cover my dark circles, provides hydration and doesn’t crease or fade throughout the day. Tarte had come up with their new concealer named Shape Tape Concealer this past Summer/Fall 2016. I have been wanting to get this but it was always sold out. Fortunately, in the month of October when I was walking past Ulta I just wanted to try my luck and check if this concealer was still available and finally I was happy to get my hands on it. But did it work for me? Is it worth the hype?

Product Claims:
Sculpt and highlight as you mask imperfections with this 2-in-1 full coverage concealer. The hydrating, longwearing formula delivers natural, radiant coverage across all skin types so you can instantly brighten and cover acne, dark circles and redness while softening the look of pores and fine lines. Wear it 1-2 shades lighter or darker, and it works as a creamy highlighter or contouring stick with a lightweight, blendable formula and tapered wand applicator ideal for precise strobing and sculpting. Powered by Amazonian clay and conditioning mango seed and shea butters, the nutrient-rich concealer helps promote skin elasticity and illumination with each crease-free application. Apply it with the all-in-one Quickie Blending Sponge (sold separately) for a quick, complexion fix and flake-free finish anywhere. Cruelty free, gluten free, vegan.

My Review:
Can we just take a moment to appreciate how cute the packaging is!! I absolutely adore the packaging. I like the purple gold print on the lid. It comes with a large doe foot applicator. I have never seen such huge applicator for a concealer.

Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer

This concealer claims to conceal, highlight and contour. They come in different shades and I am sure each one can find their shade. I got this in the shade Tan just for to hide those dark circles and it was perfect shade. The texture is so thick and not runny whatsoever. It’s a full coverage concealer. It covers almost all the redness, zits and huge dark circles. I was pretty impressed by this. Talking about blendability, it sets quite quickly so you have to be fast in blending and a little goes a long way. Since this concealer is so thick, I use my RT sponge to stipple under my eyes. But however, this concealer dint work for me. This concealer is so thick and matte that it kind of creases on me. I have pretty dry under yes so I was not satisfied with this concealer. It definitely conceals pretty well but it creases within few minutes of application even after setting with powder. I think this particular concealer is better suited to oily skin because of the thickness, matte finish and high level of coverage. If you are a makeup junkie, someone who is struggling with the appearance of their undereyes and have oily skin under the eyes or someone who just wants a new concealer then the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer is try worthy!
This concealer has rose scent to it. I don’t understand why this concealer has so much fragrance in it. It’s not something I prefer. Having such strong scent in a concealer just puts me off.

Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer

Overall, I wasn’t totally impressed by this concealer. It dint work great for my skin and plus the considering the price I would get something which really works on me but I am sure there are lot of people who just loves this and it’s one of their HG concealers.

Studio Gear Comestics | PRO T.L.S. Mascara, Gel Liner and Brush | Review

Studio Gear PRO T.L.S. Mascara, Gel Liner and Brush

I was more than thrilled when I got to try these products  from Studio Gear because I have heard some great reviews about their products.  Studio Gear Cosmetics had sent me their Mascara, Gel liner and a brush. Let’s start with their review!

I have never really tried many mascaras. My favorite has always been Maybelline Mascara’s and Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara and I swear by these but when I used Studio Gear Mascara I was totally amazed by the results. It added a nice volume making it look fuller without forming any clumps.  With two coats it adds a nice dramatic effect to your lashes without making it look like a spider web.  The best part was the wand size. It precise and sturdy which gives a nice application on both upper and lower lashes. The Mascara has collagen and other anti-oxidant properties which protects lashes. This mascara is perfect mix of voluminizing and lengthening. I have been using this religiously ever since I got it and total love it. The staying power is quite long lasting.

Studio Gear PRO T.L.S. Mascara, Gel Liner and Brush

I got this in the shade Invincible Earth which is dark brown color and I was excited to try this color out as I have wanted to play with brown eyeliners.  The consistency of this gel liner was not creamy at all like other gel liners which I have used in past. It was kinda dry when I received. I thought maybe I got a bad one but then this was directly sent by Studio Gear. The Gel liner was little dry which made it difficult to apply as a liner but once applied, the shade looked beautiful. It works absolutely amazing as an eyeshadow base. I also tried this to fill in my brows and it worked amazing and this was a perfect shade for my brows. I totally loved this liner to fill in my brows and using as an eyeshadow base.

Studio Gear PRO T.L.S. Mascara, Gel Liner and Brush

I was so excited to play around with this brush. Its shaped kina angular and works great to fill in brows and for lower lash line. I found difficulty in applying the gel liner using this brush because the bristles were little soft and didn’t give a sharp winged look at the end. But never the less I love this brush and I am using it almost every single day. I have washed this brush so many times but still the bristles are intact and I am totally impressed with this brush.

PIXI Makeup Fixing Spray | Review

As I have dry skin I’m always looking out for something hydrating on my skin when it comes to any skincare or makeup setting products.  While shopping online I came across this PIXI makeup fixing spray which contains rose water and green tea I definitely wanted to try this out. So, I went ahead and treated myself with this amazing spray.

PIXI has some really good products and can be quite expensive but totally worth it at least for this product. I was looking out for a spray which can be used for multi-purpose and this one does the job which I was looking for. It’s really effective when used before/after makeup. It works great as a primer and really extends your makeup longevity. You can also use after makeup as a setting spray to set your makeup and add a soft focus finish on your skin. Usually with my dry skin, I get patches around my nose area when I wear makeup so this definitely helps in giving me a smooth and soft finish. It also prevents makeup settling into lines. I love to use this as a toner and spritz all over my face because the Green tea and Rose water present in it helps in getting rid of that acne, blemishes and gives a clean skin with hydration.

The packaging is adorable and comes in a plastic spray bottle but very sturdy so doesn’t look cheap at all and very easy to carry in a handbag or while you travel. I love to carry this every day at work and just spritz all over my face whenever my skin feels dull and dry.

I would highly recommend this to all skin types as it’s an amazing makeup fixing spray/ toner which works great for skin and love how my skin feels and looks after using this. The only con I think its little expensive when compared to other drugstore brands.
