Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Eye Shadow Palette | Review

I generally don’t stock many eye shadow palettes as I am not a makeup artist and don’t do heavy eye makeup on everyday basis and I have couple of great palettes which are my personal favorite and I use them every time and love them. You can read about them here and here. When I read and saw so much hype about Anastasia Modern Renaissance palette I was not convinced to get due to price and color range because I have similar shades from other palettes. But during the end of the year when Sephora sent me a $20 coupon I knew what I had to purchase and hence got this palette. This palette is originally priced at $42 but I got it for $22.

I am probably the last one to get this palette and now I know why people kept talking about it so much. This palette has beautiful shade selection which will suit all skin tones especially medium skin tones since it has some wonderful transition shade. The palette has mix of metallic and matte shades but more of matte. The texture is so smooth and buttery. It blends into skin so effortlessly and it has very high pigmentation. I recommend dabbing off excess while taking the eyeshadow but even if you end up applying more eyeshadow blending can be so easy and gives a smooth finish. There are beautiful shades and so many looks can be created using this palette, however I wish there was a matte black in this palette.

The packaging comes in a sturdy cardboard box and lid is like mauve pink color with velvet finish. The packaging look super cute but it can look dirty after sometime but that doesn’t matter since the inside stuff is to die for!! The palette comes with a double sided brush. Not a big fan of the brush though !!

You get 14 shades in total.

Tempera is a vanilla shade with a matte finish

Golden Ochre is an earthy yellow with a matte finish

Vermeer is an iridescent shell with a metallic finish

Buon Fresco is an antique lavender with an matte finish

Antique Bronze is a metallic bronze with a satin finish

Love Letter is a raspberry with a matte finish

Cyprus Umber is a coffee shade

Raw Sienna is a neutral amber with a matte finish

Burnt Orange is a deep orange with a matte finish

Primavera is a shimmery gold with a matte finish

Red Ochre is a sienna with a matte finish

Venetian Red is a crimson with a matte finish

Warm Taupe is an earthy gray with matte finish

Realgar is an orange brick with a matte finish.

I know by now every single person own this but still I highly recommend this palette to everyone who are still considering to buy. This is a great buy and totally worth the money.

This gives such a flawless coverage and hides all the dark spots and also conceals dark spots. Its medium to full coverage and can be build for more coverage without looking cakey.  Click here  for full review.

L’oreal Pro-Matte Gloss:  This is in the shade Aphrodite Kiss and its gorgeous red pink color. It’s not exactly matte as it leaves kind of a glossy look but it’s so comfortable to wear. I loved the shade and the formula.

PIXI  Makeup Spray: This is been my recent favorite setting spray. I love the fact that it has green tea in it and also use this toner at times for refreshing feel.  It can be used before or after makeup and works like a magic. Click here for full review.

MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation SPF 15 | Review

MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation

Foundations are one thing I am concerned about because they can be your best friend or worst enemy. Choosing right shade and right foundation can give you a flawless base with dreamy glow or matte finish which you like and when picked a wrong foundation can totally make your face look disaster.

I don’t own 20 foundations knowing my drawers but I have couple of foundation from both drugstore and high end which I always reach out and they don’t disappoint me at all. One of those foundations is MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation (I am in the shade NC 40) which is my go-to foundation. For those of you that are not familiar with MAC colors, NC stands for those with warmer or more yellow undertones while NW which stands for cooler pink undertones.

It’s a medium to full coverage foundation and totally buildable without making your face look cakey. It gives such a flawless base and hides those dark spots and evens out my skin tone which is really cool. It doesn’t feel heavy and gives a nice semi-matte finish leaving your skin with little glow. I have dry skin and this works like a magic on me because I have heard that this foundation doesn’t suit dry skin people but definitely worked out for me so I suggest dry skin people to give it a try. The formula is semi-thick fluid but easily blendable with a sponge or any foundation brush. It lasts for more than 6 hours and with a good primer the foundation is in place throughout the day. One thing which I don’t like is the packaging. There is no dispenser or a pump. It comes in a glass bottle with a black screw tight cap and while taking foundation out it can be a bit messy but you get used to it. It comes with a SPF 15 which is good when used during day time to protect you skin while slaying a flawless base.

I highly recommend to all skin types and you will definitely not regret this.

How To Avoid Under-Eye From Creasing

how-to-avoid-under-eye-creasing

Creasing under my eyes is one problem I face and tried lot of things to avoid it but it would never go. So, I just assumed that it’s going to be like this whatever concealer I use but recently after trying so many methods I found a way to avoid creasing my under-eyes.

Prep your under-eye:

Like your face and body, your under-eyes also need it’s nourishment so always apply an under eye cream before you start with your makeup.

Prime:

I have seen many you-tubers doing this and I finally I gave it a try and boy! I was so glad I did this. I applied very little amount of my face primer on my under-eyes and allowed it to absorb for few seconds.

Correct and Conceal:

Take your favorite concealer I apply on your dark-circles. If you have very intense dark-circles, I would suggest you to use an orange corrector to avoid looking grey under your eyes. After applying corrector, apply any concealer. I like to use my ring finger or my RT miracle sponge to set my concealer.

Set with a powder:

Setting your concealer is very important. There were days when I applied concealer but never used any powder to apply and that gave me heavy creasing within an hour so I highly recommend using any powder to set your base. I like to use compact powder to set my under-eyes or you can use any loose powder to set and highlight. I love using nyx loose powder as its super fine and smooth.

What do guys do to avoid creasing under your eyes? I would love to know your tips and tricks. Thanks for reading!
