Maybelline Color sensational Creamy Matte in TOUCH OF SPICE

MAybelline Touch of Sice

Maybelline Touch Of Spice

I have been hunting for a good neutral matte lipstick (not a liquid lipstick though) which I can wear everyday and which also feels comfortable. I love Maybelline Creamy Matte lipstick in the shade Craving Coral and I used that a lot this past summer so I thought I will purchase another shade from the same range and got this beautiful neutral shade Touch of Spice.

As the name suggest it creamy matte. Touch of Spice is a beautiful warm mauve pink neutral shade which will look good on every skin tone. The formula is creamy buttery and smooth to apply. It looks completely matte on your lips but feels really comfortable. There is no drying or flakiness whatsoever. It glides easily on lips and gives an opaque finish in one swipe. These are pigmented and you can build the intensity on how you prefer. If you don’t eat with it, the color will stay on without cracking or bleeding for a good 4 to 6 hours. With eating though, you may have to retouch after as it will fade and may bleed on the outside of your lipstick. While retouching it doesn’t look like you have applied layers of lipsticks. It still looks subtle and beautiful. These lipsticks give a feeling like there is no lipstick on your lips but yet there is color on your lips. It’s really comfortable on lips and for everyday neutral look or no makeup look this particular shade is just gorgeous.

The packaging is simple and very much travel friendly. The outer plastic comes in a dark grey matte look like plastic and the sticker on the bottom shows the shade name and shade number. The lid is super tight that you can just throw in your bag and you are good to go.

I already have one shade from this range which is Craving Coral and you can read my thoughts here and this is my second lipstick of different shade from this range. Overall, I find the Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Mattes worth getting. If you’re on a hunt for a matte lipstick that won’t dry the lips, Maybelline Creamy Matte is a great choice!

Maybelline Super Stay 24 Hour Lipstick | Review

img_3622

I am always on a hunt for a lipstick which lasts long without any reapplication so when I got Maybelline 24 hour stay lipstick I was excited to try because I have seen people raving and it claims to stay on lips for 24 hours.

This is a two-step process in applying lipstick. First you need to apply the lipstick and then after it dries you need to apply the balm to seal the moisturizer.

img_3626

First time when I saw these I thought they were glosses because there was no mention of its formula but when I tried the lipstick they dried out completely matte and I was totally surprised. However the major concern for me here was it takes forever to dry matte. I literally had to wait 2-3 minutes to dry it matte and then apply the balm which comes along with it for giving a nourishing and moisturized lips. It does what it claims but when the balm is applied the lipstick doesn’t look matte anymore. It gives kind of a sheen finish which I am not a big fan so when I applied the next time I just skipped the balm part and just the lipstick try as I love the matte which it gives. However it was not at all comfortable on my lips. My lips were kind of pulling, felt super dry and stretchy. So again next time I tried it with the balm prior to lipstick application and this time it was super matte and comfortable on my lips. The staying power is actually really good. It lasted me throughout the day for at least 8 hours with little fading here and there but that’s really fine with me considering a drugstore brand. As tried this lipstick different ways and the staying power was equally good. Loved that!

With the lip balm application

I got these in the shade Keep up the flame and Constant toast. I loved the Keep up the flame shade which is nice deep red color and a shade which is universally flattering. I dint like the Constant toast as it was too light for my skin tone and completely washed me out but it’s a really gorgeous nude shade and I am pretty sure it will look flattering on other skin tones.

The packaging is plastic with a lipstick and lip balm on each end.  The applicator of the lipstick is really comfortable in applying and easy to use. For a drugstore brand this is a good buy as it’s really affordable and is really long lasting.

Have you used this before? Which is your favorite 24 hour long lasting lipstick?

This year is just going so fast before I realize. Anyways, these are some of favorites which I used a lot in the past month.

August Favorites 2016

NYX Liquid Suede in Softspoken: This is such a gorgeous nude shade and very similar to KVD Lolita. This is a matte lipstick but not at all drying on your lips and stays for more than 6 hours. This shade compliments every skin tone and goes well with any eye look or no makeup look. Click here for full review.

MUFE Ultra HD Foundation: This foundation is great for my skin type (dry). I love how my skin looks in photos with this foundation on. I had few events and function to attend and I used this foundation and my skin looked flawless with any dryness or patchiness. Click here for full review.

NYX Illuminator in Ritualistic: I am a highlighter girl. I love using highlighters but not intense and I loved how this highlighter looked on my skin. It is pigmented but not an intense highlighter and gives a very nice natural dewy look. You can always apply more for more intense look with this highlighter. Click here for full review.

Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer: This is one of my favorite drugstore concealer.  I love how this concealer gives a neat coverage and hides my dark circles. This is one of those concealers which never crease on me. The days when I don’t want to put any makeup but want to hide my dark circles and little pigmentation I always reach out for this. NYC Liquid Eyeliner in Blackest Black: This is jet matte black. I used it almost every single day. This is a must try liquid eyeliner from drugstore and it’s just couple of bucks which is super affordable. Click here for full review.

The Summer Lipstick Colors

Summer Lips edit

Summer is about to end and slowly climate is changing and we are moving towards fall now. Fall season is known for all the dramatic eyes, bold lips, edgy and grudged look while summer you spot with all bright and colorful stuffs. I have jotted down my favorite lipsticks which I have been wearing a lot this summer.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream In Sao Paulo is one of my favorite pink colors. I always have a hard time finding a right pink shade for my skin tone and I love this lipstick shade and its formula from NYX. It compliments my skin very well and looks good with any eye makeup or no makeup. It instantly changes the whole look.

Maybelline Creamy Matte In Craving Coral is a beautiful red-orange lipstick and I love this shade. Its universal flattering and I thoroughly enjoyed spotting this every week. It’s a perfect coral color which looks absolutely stunning.

Lakme 9 to 5 In Red Coat is a gorgeous red shade and I loved wearing it for night-outs. If you love red lipsticks and don’t want to splurge on high-end then this is definitely a must try. It’s also a perfect dupe for MAC Ruby Woo.

With all the red, coral and pink lipsticks I always like to wear a nude lipstick. Be it summer, fall, winter or spring, you can never go wrong with nude lips. One of my favorite nude lipsticks is from NYX Liquid Suede In Softspoken. It’s a perfect nude lipstick for my skin tone (MAC NC40) and it’s neither drying nor streaky. It stays good for more than 5 hours.

Maybelline The Blushed Nudes Eyeshadow Palette

maybelline1

Hey Beauties,

I was eyeing on UD Naked 3 Palette for a long time now because I love the rose gold packaging and the rose gold tones shadows of the palette but was definitely not ready to splurge on UD eye palette so I searched for some dupes and got Maybelline The Blushed Nudes palette.

Details:

The Expert Wear Blushed Nudes Palette by Maybelline offer great colors that are perfect for everyone. These shades have great pigment and will help you achieve the perfect day or evening look.

My Reviews:

This palette comes with 12 cool toned eye-shadows. The colors are generally rose gold toned, light to dark pinks and dark grey. Out of the 12 shadows, 11 are shimmery- metallic and 1 is matte. These eye-shadows have slight chunkiness/graininess to them.  A primer is a must to use these eye-shadows. Without primer the color payoff is really bad. So, I would highly recommend using a primer with these eye-shadows. Also, I feel if these shadows are applied with a wet brush or fingers the color pay intensity on lid is more. You need to keep layering up the color to intensify. The darker greys in the palette are much more pigmented and got less chunkiness and feels smooth which makes blending easy. The eye-shadows stays for good 5-6 hours with a primer and doesn’t fade away and was totally impressed by this. This palette comes with double side sponge applicator brush which I am not a big fan of.

I like to use this for everyday look which gives a soft toned and natural look. I got a medium skin tone and I feel these eyeshadows dint show up well on my eyelids. So, I first used a concealer as a primer to cancel any darkness and redness and set with a powder. It made a huge difference with and without primer so I can’t stress enough that a primer is a must while playing with this palette.

Talking about packaging, it comes in a sturdy rose gold plastic packaging. I love how the palette looks and is very travel friendly.

I’m not totally mesmerized by this palette but I do think it’s worth considering if you don’t want to splurge on an expensive UD Naked 3 Palette. This could be a nice, affordable alternative if you have a bit of patience (and primer).

Pros:

  • Travel friendly
  • Sturdy packaging
  • Inexpensive
  • Good for everyday use

Cons:

  • Primer is a must for color payoff
  • Chunkiness
  • Not highly pigmented

Price: $9.99

Rating: 3.5/5
