The old adage is true, you never know unless you try. This goes for this lipstick! I was very hesitant to get this shade as I thought this pure nude beige like shade would not suit my brown skin but then it was so inexpensive that I ended up getting this shade.
It’s a matte lipstick and the formula is thick and creamy. It is a perfect neutral beige-not too light or dark. It has enough color to not make like that I wore concealer on my lips or look muddy. The lipstick glides smoothly after I prep my lips (either exfoliate or apply some lip balm). If applied with the balm the lipstick looks like a satin matte finish. The setback of this lipstick is that if I apply without prepping my lips it’s too dry to work and does not glide smoothly. I have read that different colors in the Megalast collection feel different. Some are more chalky, but not this one. Color pay-off is good. It will cover your lips in one swipe only but it will give you an uneven look to the lips so you need apply one more coat to smooth it out .Staying power is ok. Without meal, it stayed up to its claim of 4 hours. With meal, it starts fading in center but slightly visible.
Also, this color is dupe for MAC’s Velvet Teddy. ! I didn’t believe the hype for this shade until I tried it. This lip color ca be paired with strong eye look or full glam look or with just a simple natural no makeup- makeup look.
The packaging is nothing special. It comes in a black color case with transparent cap for color to show through. Cap is very loose and flimsy but who can complain at this price.
